Ghost Towns and Haunted Hot Lake

Apple Valley Country Store

The first stop on our little siblings road trip was the super cute Apple Valley Country Store in Hood River, Oregon! Their website states that for about 30 years, they have been making all sorts of delicious jams, syrups, baked goods and pepper jellies. We enjoyed sampling some of their different jams, and left with a few of our favorites.

The Lodge at Hot Lake

I’ve been to Hot Lake a few times, and knew Devin and Erin would love it. I was right. We met such cool people while soaking in the tubs, many of whom said how cool it was that we get along so well, especially enough to travel together. Maybe that is unique, but regardless, I am lucky. We all have a love for the spooky and unusual, so this trip felt like a perfect one for our favorite month of October. Feeling really thankful for some quality sibling time

The Blue Banana

A little pick-me-up at the absolutely adorable Blue Banana in Lostine, Oregon before heading to the ghost town of Flora, Oregon.

Troy, Oregon

Here are some things we saw between Flora and Troy. Some of the most breathtaking scenery in the far northeast corner of Oregon.

Ghost Town of Flora, Oregon

I haven’t been to the ghost town of Flora since 2016, but I was really excited to take Devin and Erin to go check it out. Not too much has changed other than some buildings getting saggier and the old church is completely gone. It was a perfectly dreary and spooky October day to pay a visit.

One last soak before heading home…

Leaving Hot Lake is always the hardest part. Could not have asked for a better time. Thank you Erin and Devin for such a fun trip and for the memories made. Love you both.
