About

melissa-5-fast

Hi there! My name is Melissa, and I grew up in small town Oregon. My life has taken me down quite a few different paths, all of which have been very unique and valuable in their own right. I have had the privilege to grow up with an amazing family and have met so many incredible people throughout my life, all of who have inspired me in ways they may never realize.

I really started getting into photography back in 1999 when I took my first photography class in college. I was instantly hooked, and would spend hours in the darkroom developing photos. Seeing an image come to life has always provided me with a sense of magic and intrigue.

I believe that every life has a story to be told. I have never been much for journals, so I document my life through photos. My camera is my constant companion, so on this website you will find photos of things that have beauty, value and meaning to me, and that includes you!

I love life, and I love all the beauty this world has to offer. I am a true-blue, born and raised Oregonian, and when I am not on the hunt for Bigfoot, aliens, ghosts, or taking road trips to explore abandoned places, you will find me doing research on all of these things 🙂

I have had the honor of having a couple of my photos featured on 1859 Oregon’s Magazine’s website, as well as That Oregon Life. I was recently published in ROUTE Magazine and Bend Magazine. Other awards and accolades include winning second place in a student wide art show in the category of photography, as well as winning a few ribbons at the state and county fair.

If you see a photo you’d like to order or are looking for a photographer, please feel free to contact me at melswhitney@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you, and can’t wait to photograph your unique story.
