On Monday, Devin, Erin and I got up early to drive to Makena Beach to watch the sunrise. It was so beautiful watching the dark sky brighten with those early morning cotton candy colors, then into vibrant oranges and blues.
There was only one other person on the beach when we got there, making it even more peaceful. The unique thing about Makena Beach, which is also referred to as “Big Beach”, is it is really wide beach and extends nearly 2/3 of a mile, making it one of Maui’s largest beaches.
We spent a lot of time at Makena Beach. We found a really cool spot with tons of shells, coral, and sea urchin spines, so it turned into a bit of a treasure hunt.

We ended the day back near our condos with a sunset walk at Kapalua Bay.
