After the Bigfoot Festival I ventured on towards Reno where I visited one of my best friends, Scott. Along the way I stopped at a super cute little cafe for some lunch in a little town called Shasta. Driving through town I saw these ruins and knew that after grabbing some food I needed to get some photos.
The site of the town is now a historical park and is called Shasta State Historic Park. After doing some research, what I found is that Shasta contains many of the original 1850s-era brick buildings, and some are partially restored. Shasta is now a town with the ruins of the gold mining town, a post office, a church, an elementary school, the oldest Masonic lodge in California, and a store. Being a fan of ghost towns or even semi-ghost towns, this was a cool find along the way.
